Privacy Policy
Protecting your personal data matters to us. For operating this website, Day Mercury in principle only processes technically necessary data. We use no advertising, no social-media plugins and no external fonts; images, too, are delivered exclusively from our own server in Germany (section 8). Audience analytics via Google Analytics (section 6) is used only if you expressly consent through our cookie banner; without your consent, no analytics or tracking takes place. Below we inform you about the processing pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Tippel
Inhaber: Lukas Friedrich
Kampweg 4
34369 Hofgeismar
Deutschland
Email: info@tippel.ai
We are not legally required to appoint a data protection officer. For any data-protection questions, you can reach us at the email address above.
2. Your rights
You have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18), a right to data portability (Art. 20) and a right to object (Art. 21, see section 3). Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)); the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority (Art. 77) — you may also contact the authority of your habitual residence.
Competent supervisory authority for the controller:
Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden
datenschutz.hessen.de
Obligation to provide data: providing personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. To simply visit this website you do not have to actively supply any data; the only technically unavoidable element is your browser transmitting your IP address, without which the page cannot be delivered to you. If you write to us, we need the details you provide solely in order to answer your enquiry; without them we cannot reply. No further disadvantages arise for you (Art. 13 (2) (e) GDPR).
3. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This concerns the processing operations marked accordingly in this policy (hosting, server log files, strictly necessary cookies, language and region selection, delivery of images, answering enquiries). If you object, we will no longer process the data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. An objection is possible without any formality — an email to info@tippel.ai is sufficient.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted with IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Deutschland) on a server located in Germany/the EU. The host processes the data transmitted via the website (in particular access data) on our behalf under a data-processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to provide this website securely, stably and reliably without having to operate our own server infrastructure. No transfer to a third country takes place.
5. Server log files
When you access this website, information is automatically recorded in so-called server log files that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the address requested, the volume of data transferred, the referrer URL, and the browser and operating system used. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in providing the website technically, in its stability and in its security, in particular detecting and defending against attacks and abuse.
Storage period: log files are automatically deleted no later than 7 days after the access. If, in an individual case, they are needed to investigate a specific instance of abuse or an attack, we retain the entries concerned until the incident has been conclusively clarified; they are deleted afterwards. This data is not merged with other data sources.
6. Cookies
This website uses technically necessary cookies to store your settings. Cookies for analytics purposes (Google Analytics) are only set once you have consented via the cookie banner (see section 7). For the technically necessary cookies, no consent under § 25 (2) TDDDG is required; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to preserve the choices you have made beyond the current visit, so that you do not have to select your language, region and cookie decision again on every visit. Specifically, the following are set:
- gn_locality — stores your chosen region (Germany/Global), lifetime approx. 1 year.
- gn_lang — stores your chosen language (German/English), lifetime approx. 1 year.
- gn_consent — stores your cookie choice (consent granted or refused) so the banner does not reappear; lifetime approx. 1 year. Technically necessary.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the region/language will then be determined anew on each visit.
7. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web-analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse your use of the website (e.g. pages visited, approximate geographic origin, time spent, and the device and browser used). We only activate Google Analytics after you have expressly consented via our cookie banner — without your consent the service is not loaded.
The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer and choosing “Necessary only”, or by deleting the cookies in your browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point. Advertising-related features are disabled throughout (Consent Mode: ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization are always “denied”); we do not run advertising.
IP addresses: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Your IP address is only used transiently by Google to derive your approximate origin (country/region) and is then discarded; it does not appear in our reports.
Storage period: the user and event data collected by Google Analytics is automatically deleted in our account after 2 months (“Data retention” setting). The cookies used, _ga and _ga_<property-id>, each have a lifetime of up to 2 years and serve to distinguish users.
Processing on our behalf and third-country transfer: Google processes the data on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be excluded. For this we rely on the EU Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and additionally on the EU standard contractual clauses incorporated by Google pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR. You can request a copy of the standard contractual clauses from us at any time, without any formality, at info@tippel.ai; they are also publicly available in Google's data-processing terms. Despite these safeguards, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities may access the data.
Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. A browser add-on to disable Google Analytics is provided by Google at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. Language and region selection
To suggest a suitable language and region on your first visit, our server evaluates a country indicator provided by our reverse proxy together with your browser's language preference (Accept-Language). This evaluation takes place exclusively server-side on our server in Germany; no location data is stored permanently and no external services are involved — in particular, your IP address is not transmitted to any geo-IP provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to show you a suitable language version immediately, without extra effort on your part.
9. Images
Some articles contain freely licensed photos from Pexels (Pexels License) or from Wikimedia Commons (public domain / CC). These images are delivered exclusively via our own server in Germany: we retrieve the image file server-side, scale it down to the size actually needed and serve it to your browser. Your browser does not connect to Pexels, to the Wikimedia Foundation or to any other third party; your IP address is not transmitted to any third party and not to any third country. The author or photographer, title and licence are stated with each image. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in an attractive, source-referenced presentation of our articles.
10. External links
Our articles link to the original sources cited and to other external websites. These pages are only contacted once you actively click the link. If you follow such a link, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply. We have no influence over their data processing.
11. Contacting us and the contact form
If you contact us by email, we process your details exclusively to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to respond to your request. Where the matter concerns the initiation or performance of a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
If you use our contact form, we process the details you enter there (name, email address, message). This data is not stored in a database: it is used solely to forward your message as an email to our mailbox, and is not retained on our server afterwards. Delivery is handled by our mail provider; no third country is involved. To protect against automated bulk messages (spam) we use an invisible mandatory field and a short-term limit on submissions per IP address; for this, your IP address is processed only transiently in memory and is not stored. No captcha or other third-party service is used.
Storage period: we delete your enquiry and the associated data as soon as your request has been conclusively handled and no follow-up questions are to be expected, but no later than 6 months after the last contact. Statutory retention obligations (such as commercial or tax-law periods) remain unaffected; in that case processing is restricted and the data is deleted once the period has expired.
12. No automated decision-making
There is no automated decision-making or profiling with legal effect concerning you. While our articles are created with the help of artificial intelligence from publicly available news sources, this does not involve processing the personal data of visitors to this website.
13. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” in your browser's address bar.
14. Currency of this policy
We update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website make it necessary. The version published here applies in each case.
Last updated: 15 July 2026 · This privacy policy is provided in German and English. In the event of discrepancies, the German version prevails.
